Lord Mayor's Parade
The Lord Mayor's Parade is annual celebration of Manchester's unique culture. Its main attractions include an outdoor market, carnival rides, street entertainers, and food stalls. It takes place each July in the neighborhoods that surround Albert Square.

Parade Route Details
The parade travels near many of Albert Square's most popular landmarks including Manchester Town Hall, the Albert Memorial, and Diamond Jubilee Fountain. The parade also travels around popular museums and shopping centers located near Princess Street. Visitors are welcome to gather at these destinations to watch the parade any time between 7 a.m. - 9 a.m.

Manchester Poetry Festival
This fun festival celebrates the talents of some of England's most talented poets and poetry readers. It takes places each October at many venues located near Manchester City Centre including Chinatown, the Cathedral Gardens, and the Northern Quarter. Be sure to attend the live poetry readings that take place at Piccadilly Plaza to mingle with locals who enjoy hearing great poetry in person.

Manchester Literature Festival
The Manchester Literature Festival is a two-week celebration that celebrates the talents of Manchester's most popular contemporary fiction writers and poets. It takes place during the last weekend in October at venues located near Beehive Mill including the Manchester Art Gallery, the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama and the Royal Northern College of Music.

Some of the Manchester Literature Festival's most popular attractions include a book sale, live poetry readings, writer workshops and food booths. Be sure to attend the Midland Future Young Writer's Writing Competition during the festival to meet some of England's most promising young writers.

The Manchester Diwali Festival is a colorful Indian festival that celebrates the return of Lord Rama from his 14-year exile that ended with his defeat of the demon-king Ravana. It takes place during Manchester's Hindu New Year celebrations located inside Manchester's Curry Mile District.

Some of the festival's most popular attractions include fireworks displays, food booths, and several Hindu religious ceremonies. Be sure to attend the dances that take place near Manchester's Ghandi Hall to mingle with locals who enjoy learning about India's unique culture.

Off Piste Winter Gourmet Food Festival
The Off Piste Winter Gourmet Food Festival celebrates Manchester's love of hearty winter cuisine. It takes places each November at Manchester's Event City Complex.

The main highlights of this winter festival include a four-course gourmet meal, cooking demonstrations, dancing, and an outdoor mini carnival. Be sure to visit the carnival to sample apple cider and other drinks produced by local apple farmers.

Manchester Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Manchester's Christmas tree lighting ceremony celebrates the arrival of the Christmas season. Its main attraction is a gorgeous 60-foot Christmas tree that is decorated with locally produced decorations. It takes places during the last Saturday in November at Manchester's City Centre. Be sure to arrive at least three hours before the ceremony begins to avoid parking problems.
